Deputy Mananger - Uk Healthcare Professional

Our well established client are looking for a deputy manager for a retirement village in Lanarkshire in Scotland. You will need to manage all aspects of the delivery of care to the residents within the home. With particular emphasis on the development, monitoring and audit of professional standards.

Duties:

• Through supervision, ensure all staff members maintain high standards and contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the unit and to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the clients.
• Monitor care plan documentation and undertake a weekly review along with the manager to ensure best practice.
• Undertake general nursing and personal care as appropriate to clients needs.
• Practise maximum integrity in all dealings with client’s personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship which exists with clients.
• Maintain effective communication through regular contact/meetings with clients, relatives, staff members, Chief Executive, head office and any other concerned bodies. Ensure that minutes of meetings are taken during meetings.
• Adhere to and implement all HR policies and procedures
• Formally supervise and appraise staff members in line with company policy and conduct on-going informal assessment of the work of staff members to ensure consistently high standards.
• Implement and initiate training for all staff members.
• Manage the staff rota to reflect the predicted workload to ensure that there is sufficient manpower resources to accommodate and deal with problems where necessary.
• Ensure staff members receive appropriate training in all aspects of their work in the unit and are given help and guidance where appropriate. Promote staff training and development and maintain up to date records.
• Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines/SSSC guidelines and codes of conduct.
• Assist the manager in the control of the ordering and administration of drugs within the unit and maintain the necessary records.
• Participate in an On-call rota for emergencies which may arise in the unit, this may include providing additional cover when there is a shortage of safe staffing.
• Carry out relief management in other units within reasonable commuting distance.
• Carry out any other task which may be reasonably assigned to you.

Candidate should either be a 1st level nurse or have NVQ3 in care of older people, a Registered Managers Award (achieved/working towards) or equivalent. The ability to communicate effectively at all times and at all levels. A full driving licence and a genuine interest in working with the relevant client group.
